About this course

This final session in the workshop series considers the place of financial education in schools and wider society. Participants discuss whether schools should do more to prepare young people for financial independence, while reflecting on how upbringing and personal experience can influence their understanding of money. The session uses guided discussion and reflection to examine how financial literacy is taught and how financial attitudes are formed.

Is this course right for you?

The workshop is open to learners at all levels and does not require prior financial knowledge. A maths level equivalent to Level 1 Functional Skills or working towards GCSE Maths Foundation, or above, is recommended to help participants engage with the sessions.

  • No previous financial knowledge is required.
  • A basic foundation in maths is recommended.
