About this course

The course introduces subtractive monoprinting, where ink is removed from a surface, and additive monoprinting, where ink is applied to create an image. Participants investigate combining both approaches, building layers and developing a composition or series of one-off prints. Printing is explored with an etching press and by hand, alongside instruction in using inks, rollers, paper and studio equipment. Teaching includes demonstrations, practical assignments, one-to-one guidance and group discussion.
