About this course
Participants play consort repertoire selected by the group with guidance from the tutor. Coaching may cover rhythm, dynamics, bowing, fingering and performance practice, with discussion in English forming part of the class. The music studied can include different types of consort repertoire and playing techniques. Digital resources, including recordings, online video, mobile applications and Microsoft Teams, may also be used to support study inside and outside the classroom.

Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for intermediate players who can sight-read one part independently and participate in group discussion in English. Ensembles may include players with varied levels, so participants should be prepared to work within a mixed-ability group. Regular attendance, punctuality and study activities outside class are expected.

Before you go
- Participants need to bring their own viol and bow.
- Viols and other instruments should be at A=415, subject to availability and tutor approval.
