About this course

The course develops a shared flamenco and Spanish dance repertoire through tutor-led demonstrations, repeated movement patterns and practical exercises. Participants work with stamping, clapping and rhythmic accompaniment while refining more complex sequences and responding to different dance rhythms. Sessions combine individual dance practice with ensemble work, discussion and regular tutor feedback. Digital resources, including filmed material, may supplement class learning. The repertoire is prepared for performance as part of the ensemble, with attention to collaborative working, spatial awareness and performance practice.

What you'll learn

  • Refine the strength, clarity and coordination of flamenco and Spanish dance technique
  • Perform selected flamenco and Spanish dance choreographies from the ensemble repertoire
  • Apply spatial awareness, collaborative working and performance ethics when performing sequences
  • Develop coordination, flexibility, strength and stamina through dance practice
  • Respond to flamenco and Spanish dance rhythms using movement, stamping and clapping
