About this course

Participants rehearse short radio plays in an ensemble setting before recording them in a professional radio studio. The work covers contemporary and classic drama, comedy, horror and thriller, with attention to vocal characterisation, audio acting and microphone technique. Teaching includes direction on adapting performance for audio, responding to fast rehearsal and recording schedules, and connecting movement with vocal delivery. Participants also work with sound effects, review recorded material and discuss their development.

The course is intended for advanced acting learners and involves ensemble rehearsals, studio performance and independent preparation. Entry for new students is through audition and interview. Participants should be fluent in spoken, written and read English and able to read a script while acting.

  • Participants can consent to or decline photography and filming of class activities.
