Mosaic: design and complete a personal project

About this course

This studio course takes learners from an initial idea through the design, cutting, assembly and finishing of an individual mosaic. Teaching combines demonstrations, presentations, guided exercises and practical making, with one-to-one feedback, group discussion and reflection on work. Participants develop their project with step-by-step guidance before taking increasing ownership of the process. The course introduces relevant tools, materials, techniques and studio health and safety. Assessment is informal and integrated into practical work, critical discussion and project development rather than formal exams.
