Music Theory for Computer Musicians

About this course

The course connects fundamental music theory with music-making in digital audio workstations. Learners examine notes, scales, keys, chords and intervals, then apply these concepts to writing chord progressions, melodies and motifs. Teaching combines practical workshops with lectures, presentations, listening-assignment discussions, and group and individual projects. Examples are drawn from Logic, with provision for examples using Ableton or Reaper.
