About this course
The course develops musical language and notation through the ABRSM Grade 2 syllabus. Topics include triplet subdivision, additional time signatures, ledger lines, major and minor keys, key signatures, tonic triads, intervals, scale construction, and common musical terms and symbols. Teaching combines explanation and demonstration with revision videos or audio, worksheets, group performance and individual demonstration tasks such as clapping rhythms. Written homework extends the classroom work, and the course can also support preparation for an external ABRSM music theory examination.
