About this course

Participants develop a natural dye palette using plant extracts, seasonal foraged materials, food waste and resources from the college dye garden. The course introduces fabric preparation, screen printing with natural dye extracts, overprinting and natural discharge methods for layering or altering colour. Pattern and mark making are explored across different fabrics. Teaching combines presentations, demonstrations and group discussions, with participants compiling a sample book of recipes, methods and dyed or printed samples.
