About this course
The course examines developments affecting public life in the UK and internationally, including elections, political movements, conflict, migration, climate policy, inequality, free speech and digital culture. Topics are considered in relation to their wider historical, political and social contexts. Teaching centres on open discussion, debate and critical analysis. Learners are encouraged to question assumptions, assess how events are presented by different groups and organisations, and consider how current affairs influence public opinion, society and everyday life.
