About this course
Participants examine how lighting shapes nude art photography, including hard, soft, low-key and high-key approaches, and work with studio lighting equipment. The course also covers camera settings, light meters, metering modes, focal length and lens classification. Teaching takes place in a small group, with practical work on set alongside a professional model. Participants develop approaches to composition, posing and directing, and practise setting up backdrops, props and lighting to achieve a chosen mood or style.

Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for improver-level photographers with a good understanding of basic exposure and manual camera settings. Participation involves practical studio work in a small group, including working with a professional model and receiving individual feedback.
- Basic knowledge of aperture, shutter speed, ISO and exposure modes is strongly advised
- Confidence using a camera’s manual settings is strongly advised
Before you go
- A mirrorless, DSLR or compact camera with full manual controls is required, although the provider can provide a camera if needed.
- The provider supplies the necessary props and accessories.
- Participants are advised to bring their camera manual, a fully charged battery and an empty memory card.
- Comfortable shoes are recommended.
- An external flash may be brought if owned.
