About this course
The course introduces oil painting through still-life exercises, including approaches that begin directly with paint rather than preparatory drawing. Participants explore colour mixing, colour harmonies, different painting surfaces, glazing and varied methods of applying paint. Later work becomes more self-directed, with guidance on developing initial sketches and ideas into a structured painting plan. The course combines demonstrations and practical exercises with supported individual project development.
