About this course
The course uses sustained observation of the human form as the basis for drawing. Participants spend time immersing themselves in the visual qualities of what they observe, considering how these can be developed through pictorial language. It is designed for artists, creatives and image-makers at all levels, including beginners.

The course is intended for artists, creatives and image-makers at all levels, including beginners. Participation centres on sustained observation and drawing, with time devoted to closely studying the human form.
Before you go
- Easels, drawing boards, charcoal, newsprint and masking tape are provided in the studio.
- Cartridge and watercolour paper are provided.
- Participants may bring additional materials for personal use, such as drawing pencils, Conté crayons, pastels, ink pens, coloured pencils, erasers, a pencil sharpener or a sketchbook.
- A full suggested materials list is provided one week before the course begins.
