About this course

The course uses observational drawing to examine rhythm and movement in the human figure. Participants study balance, structure and gesture, developing drawings that respond to the expressive qualities of the body. The work combines technical observation with attention to expressive form and imagination.

Before you go

• Easels, drawing boards, charcoal, newsprint and masking tape are provided in the studio.
• Cartridge and watercolour paper are provided in the studio.
• A suggested materials list is sent before the course; learners may bring other materials if they wish.
