The course is designed for beginners, including learners with no previous etching experience. The beginner label indicates an introductory level, while the activities involve exploring several printmaking processes and working from personal ideas or source material.
Before you go
- An intaglio print room is provided.
- Wear an apron and old clothes.
- Bring ideas and source material, an eraser, and a nylon sable-type brush in sizes 2 to 6.
- Optional tools include a dry point or etching needle, burnisher, magnifying glass and scraper.
- Plates and paper are available to buy in the print room.
- A further materials list is provided a week before the course begins.
