About this course
The course introduces stained glass techniques alongside kiln-fired glass painting and surface treatments. Participants develop a design and make a simple stained glass panel, working with glass cutting, painted lines and shading, enamels, silver stain, resists, sandblasting and basic fusing. The panel can be assembled using leading or copper foiling techniques. Teaching combines practical demonstrations, one-to-one support, group discussion and illustrated lectures. The course also considers historical and contemporary stained glass from different cultures. Progress is reviewed through observation of practical work and individual and group discussions.
