About this course
The course examines painting and drawing as physical, performative activities. Participants explore how gesture, pace, duration and scale affect mark-making, and use moving image to choreograph drawing and painting actions in relation to a camera. Teaching combines structured practical projects with presentations on selected artists, group discussion, evaluation and one-to-one guidance. Workshops address different relationships between the two disciplines, while encouraging participants to develop individual connections between them and reflect on the surfaces and images they create.
