About this course
Participants explore two marbling approaches: traditional paper marbling and the Japanese suminagashi method. Teaching combines tutor demonstrations, group discussion, one-to-one tuition and practical project work, with regular feedback during the workshop. The course covers selecting suitable materials and tools, producing decorative marbled papers for bookbinding and other paper arts, and considering the historical and cultural significance of these traditions.
