About this course

Learners examine commercial patterns and investigate common fit problems, considering why they occur and which alteration method is appropriate. Class exercises are carried out on the stand, with sewing machines used to make toiles and test adjustments. Participants may also analyse a pattern or garment that does not fit and apply suitable corrections to refine its shape and fit.

What you'll learn

  • Identify common fit problems in commercial patterns
  • Analyse why particular fit issues occur
  • Select appropriate pattern alteration methods
  • Apply alterations accurately and test them through toiles

  • Includes practical analysis and adjustment of a pattern or garment that does not fit

Before you go
