The course examines how pattern shapes can be planned around fabric dimensions to reduce waste while retaining the intended garment appearance. Learners will explore different zero-waste design approaches, develop a pattern and use sewing machines to construct a top. Teaching combines guided instruction with practical pattern planning and garment making.

Before you go

• Bring a pencil, pen, notebook and the cloth intended for the garment.
• Buy calico for toiling, a tracing wheel, a drill holer, and either a pattern master or set square.
