About this course
This workshop introduces photojournalism and street photography through the relationship between photographic mechanics, composition and visual storytelling. Participants explore portraiture, urban photography, street art and documentary approaches, including the idea of the decisive moment and the role of the eyewitness photographer. The course also considers photography for publication, communication with editors and the public, ethics, editing and the digital darkroom. A central activity is developing a photo essay, using a sequence of images to investigate a story or theme.
