PhotoShop and Illustrator for Designers

About this course

Participants use Adobe Photoshop to edit and manipulate digital images, while Illustrator is used to combine shapes, text and imagery for flyers, social media content and other design work. The course also introduces visual research, sketchbook practice and graphic design in different contexts. Learners plan and complete a project from a brief, analyse and present their work, and respond to ongoing feedback. Class exercises contribute to a portfolio assessed for an OCN Level 1 Award in Creative and Digital Media.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners who already have some experience using graphic design software and are ready to complete qualification coursework. Participants need to communicate clearly, understand instructions containing technical vocabulary, contribute to classroom discussions and maintain full attendance.

• Applicants must be aged 19 or over on 31 August before the course starts
• Examples of previous work made with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign are required for consideration
• Tutor approval is required
• The qualification depends on producing a portfolio through class-based work

Before you go

• Learners must provide examples of previous work made using an Adobe application.
• Work produced during the course is developed into a portfolio for assessment.
