The course develops basic music notation and theory through work on scales, arpeggios, exercises and repertoire in varied styles. Practical playing covers melodies, chords and simple counterpoint with independent hands, as well as legato, staccato, dynamics, articulation and expression. Sessions also address posture, hand position, warm-ups and effective practice habits.

  • Perform melodies, chords and simple counterpoint with independence between the hands
