Piano: repertoire workshop

About this course

The workshop examines piano repertoire from the Baroque period to contemporary music, with tutor-led themes allowing participants to select pieces. Sessions develop stylistic interpretation alongside postural awareness, pianistic studies, tone production, pedalling, rhythm and pulse coordination, musical forms, memorisation and contrapuntal textures. Teaching follows a masterclass format, with individual coaching for each participant. Learners may also contribute to performances through attentive listening, practical illustration and peer feedback. Materials and homework are shared through Google Classroom.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for advanced pianists working at a minimum Grade 8 playing standard. Regular practice between classes is essential. Participants receive individual coaching but are also invited to listen attentively, contribute practical illustrations, exchange peer feedback and take part in performances. Learners need to follow written and verbal instructions in English and participate in class discussions.
