About this course
Participants develop piano technique and general musicianship through structured exercises, scales, arpeggios, chords and sight-reading. The course addresses individual technical issues and introduces approaches to practising more effectively, with work adapted to each learner’s level. Each participant has a digital keyboard for class activities. Sessions also include discussion of peers’ performances, and digital resources such as recordings, videos, mobile applications and Microsoft Teams may support study inside and outside the classroom.

Is this course right for you?
This mixed-level course is intended for piano players with at least one year’s experience, including those returning to the instrument after a break. Participants work individually at keyboards while contributing to peer-performance discussions, following and taking part in discussions in English, and completing activities outside class.

Before you go
- Bring a notebook, pencil, eraser and manuscript paper.
- Participants may bring piano repertoire they would like to work on.
- Headphones are provided, although participants are encouraged to bring their own.
- The course advises maintaining good posture and taking regular breaks to stretch and relax while playing.
