About this course
The course introduces the main stages of picture framing and mount cutting through demonstrations and practical studio work. Participants will measure and cut frame components, use different methods to glue and join frames, cut acrylic glass, and prepare mount-board for artwork. Examples of framing media are shown and discussed before learners apply the techniques themselves, with one-to-one guidance and written instructions available during the practical work.

Is this course right for you?
The course is designed for complete beginners as well as learners with some frame-making experience. Participants should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions, take short notes, join group discussions, and carry out basic measurements and calculations.

Before you go
- Basic materials used on the course, including frame moulding, acrylic glass and mount-board, are covered by the course fee.
- Specialist materials may need to be bought separately; a supplier list is provided.
- Bring a pencil and notebook for personal notes.
- An apron or clothes that can get dirty is recommended.
- Because of room-size limitations, frames larger than A3 cannot be made.
