About this course

The course introduces different ways poetry can be structured and written, using examples from Romantic, Modernist and contemporary poets. Participants respond to themes and texts through exercises focused on tone, rhythm, metre, metaphor, lyricism and descriptive imagery. Teaching includes group discussion, sharing work and constructive feedback. These activities are used to examine poetic writing, connect ideas across different texts and help participants develop their own poetic voice.
