What Elementary (A2) Polish means
At A2 Polish, learners can handle simple routine exchanges and describe familiar aspects of everyday life.
Describe your routine
Zwykle jeżdżę do pracy autobusem i wracam do domu o szóstej.
I normally go to work by bus and return home at six.
Make a simple plan
Chcesz iść do kina w sobotę po południu?
Would you like to go to the cinema on Saturday afternoon?
Talk about the recent past
Wczoraj zjadłam kolację z przyjaciółmi, a potem poszliśmy na spacer.
Yesterday I had dinner with friends and then we went for a walk.
These are general examples of language use at this level, not a description of any individual course syllabus.
About this course
The course develops Polish for everyday situations, with lessons taught mainly in Polish and centred on spoken communication. Learners practise listening, speaking, reading and writing through interactive activities including group work and role-play. Content covers talking about past events and travel, describing personal and family history, comparing generations, and using regular, irregular and modal verbs in the past. The course also examines completed and ongoing past actions, movement verbs and aspects of travelling by train or bus in Poland.
What you'll learn
- Describe past events, personal history and travel experiences using appropriate past-tense forms.
- Use regular and irregular Polish verbs accurately in the past tense.
- Express what someone wanted, had to or could do using past modal verbs.
- Distinguish between completed and ongoing actions in past contexts.
- Describe movement and travel using past-tense movement verbs.
- Write a short autobiography in Polish.
Is this course right for you?
