About this course
The course considers how populist ideas shape political debate in Britain. Topics include national sovereignty, immigration, the “silent majority”, cultural and economic concerns, eco-populism, opposition to economic inequality, and younger voters’ concerns about housing and opportunity. Teaching takes the form of a one-off lecture with discussion. Learners will examine the influence of right- and left-wing ideologies and consider evidence-based approaches to current affairs issues.
