About this course
The course introduces Portuguese for everyday situations, including greetings, introductions, nationalities, classroom interaction and ordering drinks. Learners work with foundational language structures such as personal pronouns, definite articles, regular present-tense verbs, key uses of ser and estar, prepositions, question words and negative sentences. Vocabulary includes numbers, days, countries, cities, languages, colours and classroom objects. Lessons also introduce differences between European and Brazilian Portuguese, alongside cultural context about coffee, snacks and café customs in Portuguese-speaking countries.

- Give and ask for basic information about origins, nationalities and languages
- Form simple questions and negative sentences in Portuguese
- Use key verbs and regular -ar verbs in the present tense

Is this course right for you?
This course is designed for complete beginners and learners who have not studied Portuguese formally. The Beginner (A1) label indicates an introductory starting point. Participation includes asking simple questions, interacting with the teacher and following classroom instructions in Portuguese.
