What Beginner (A1) Portuguese means

At A1 Portuguese, learners are beginning to use familiar words and simple sentences in predictable everyday situations.

  • Introduce yourself

    Chamo-me Ana. Moro em Londres.

My name is Ana. I live in London.

  • Order in a café

    Queria um café, por favor.

I would like a coffee, please.

  • Ask for directions

    Desculpe, onde fica a estação?

Excuse me, where is the station?

These are general examples of language use at this level, not a description of any individual course syllabus.
