What Pre-intermediate (A2+) Portuguese means

At A2+ Portuguese, learners can connect simple sentences, give reasons and manage a wider range of familiar situations.

  • Explain a preference

    Prefiro viajar de comboio porque é mais confortável e posso ler.

    I prefer travelling by train because it is more comfortable and I can read.

  • Handle a small problem

    O quarto está muito frio. Poderia verificar o aquecimento?

    The room is very cold. Could you check the heating?

  • Describe an experience

    No ano passado visitei Lisboa e gostei muito da arquitetura.

    Last year I visited Lisbon and really liked the architecture.

About this course

This course develops communication in Portuguese through situations such as explaining delays, apologising, recounting events and discussing weather reports. Learners work on the present, past perfect simple and imperfect tenses, verbal prepositions and noun gender, alongside vocabulary, pronunciation and cultural topics. Lessons use group activities and role-plays, with the teacher speaking Portuguese throughout to provide listening and comprehension practice. Access to lesson summaries, notes and other resources is also included through an online platform.
