About this course
The course develops spoken Portuguese through group activities and role-plays, with the teacher using Portuguese throughout to support listening and comprehension. Alongside communication practice, participants work systematically on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Topics include sport and fitness, leisure facilities, safety in extreme sports, friendship and relationships, and discussing books, broadcasts, films and plays. Language work covers adverbs ending in “-mente”, the perfect tense and the subjunctive in indirect speech, supported by cultural exploration of sport and fitness in the Portuguese-speaking world.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for intermediate learners who have studied Portuguese to a fairly high level. It requires previous study equivalent to Portuguese Level 14 or at least 168 class hours, so it is not designed for learners starting the language. Participation centres on spoken communication, group work and role-plays.
