About this course
The course develops spoken Portuguese through group activities and role-plays, with the teacher using Portuguese throughout to practise comprehension and listening. Learners work systematically on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation while handling everyday communication such as exchanging personal information, describing places, discussing possessions, routines, preferences and opinions. Language work includes the present tense of ter and gostar, possessive pronouns, adjectives, word order, numbers, prepositions, contractions and quantities. Vocabulary covers personal objects, workplaces, jobs, activities and the alphabet, alongside discussion of diverse lifestyles.
What you'll learn
- Exchange and request personal information, including completing forms.
- Describe places, workplaces, objects and people using appropriate vocabulary and adjectives.
- Discuss possessions, preferences, professional routines and opinions in Portuguese.
- Use elementary grammar including ter, gostar, possessive pronouns, contractions, prepositions and quantifiers.
- Ask for and position objects, spell words, and give simple reasons.
Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for learners who have completed Portuguese Level 1 or another Portuguese course of at least 12 class hours. The Elementary (A2) level indicates study beyond the initial beginner stage. Participation centres on spoken communication, group work and role-plays, with lessons conducted in Portuguese.
- Previous Portuguese study is required.
- Learners practise through group activities and role-plays.
- The teacher uses Portuguese throughout the lessons.
