About this course
The course develops everyday Portuguese through activities such as asking for personal information, describing places and workplaces, discussing possessions, preferences and professional routines, and expressing opinions. Learners also work on grammar including present-tense forms of ter and gostar, possessives, adjectives, prepositions, contractions and quantities. Teaching combines spoken communication with group tasks and role-plays. The teacher uses Portuguese throughout, while structured work on vocabulary, pronunciation and listening supports broader language development. The course also introduces vocabulary related to personal objects, jobs, places and diverse lifestyles.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for Elementary (A2) learners who have already completed a beginners’ Portuguese course. It requires prior study equivalent to Portuguese Level 1 or at least 12 class hours. Participation focuses on spoken communication, group work and role-plays, with the teacher speaking Portuguese throughout.
- Previous Portuguese study is required.
- Group activities and role-plays are a regular part of the learning format.
- Learners are expected to engage with Portuguese used throughout the class.
