About this course
The course develops Portuguese communication for everyday situations, including asking for and giving information about places, clothing and transport, comparing locations, expressing preferences, causes, needs and obligations, and describing ongoing actions. Language work covers relevant vocabulary, irregular present-tense verbs, comparisons, polite requests, movement prepositions and structures for obligation and ongoing activity. Lessons combine spoken interaction, group work and role-plays with systematic practice in grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. The teacher uses Portuguese throughout to provide listening and comprehension practice, and the course also introduces Porto through sociocultural study.
