About this course
This course develops communication about past events, journeys, places visited, holidays and personal experiences. Learners practise asking for and giving information, retelling events, describing places of interest, and expressing holiday opinions and preferences. Lessons combine group activities and role-plays with systematic work on regular and irregular Portuguese simple past forms, time expressions, vocabulary, pronunciation and listening comprehension. The teacher conducts the class in Portuguese, with cultural material about tourist destinations and experiences in Portuguese-speaking countries.

- Describe and retell past events using regular and selected irregular forms of the Portuguese simple past tense.
- Ask for and provide information about trips, journeys and places visited.
- Use expressions such as já, ainda não and nunca with the simple past.
- Describe places of interest and discuss holidays, free time and extreme sports.
- Express opinions and preferences about holiday experiences.
Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for Elementary learners who are already studying Portuguese and have completed Portuguese Level 7 or at least 84 class hours. The teaching style involves spoken communication, group work, role-plays and interaction in Portuguese.
- Previous Portuguese study is required.
- Learners should be prepared to take part in group activities and role-plays.
- The teacher speaks Portuguese throughout the lessons.
