Pottery (All levels) 3D Campus

An all-levels pottery class covering hand-building, introductory wheel throwing, clay preparation, decorating and glazing through tutor-led studio work.
About this course
The course begins with an induction to the pottery studio and glaze room, followed by demonstrations of hand-building methods including pinching, coiling, slab building and mould work. It also introduces throwing on the wheel, clay preparation, the properties of different clay bodies, and basic decorating and glazing techniques. Learners with more experience can develop individual projects by agreeing objectives and planning their work with the tutor. Notes, sketches and photographic records are encouraged, alongside individual technical guidance and reference to ceramic artists and craftspeople.
