Pottery - Beginners and Improvers

About this course

The course introduces core hand building methods, including coiling, slabbing and press moulding, alongside simple decorative techniques. Learners with existing making skills can develop guided personal projects informed by historical or contemporary ceramics, with an opportunity to use the potter’s wheel. Teaching includes guidance on the aesthetics of form and the making process, helping learners review and refine their work as it develops.

Is this course right for you?

The course is designed for complete beginners as well as learners with some previous experience of working with clay. Beginners will focus on foundational hand building, while more experienced participants can pursue a guided personal project and explore wheel throwing.
