Pottery: Glazing Workshop

An improver-level workshop covering glaze methods, testing, colourants, temperature and spray-booth use for pottery students with some experience.
About this course
The workshop examines different approaches to glazing, common causes of poor results and ways to design pots for easier application. Participants explore glaze testing and the development of a test-tile collection, alongside the use of underglazes, oxides and colourants and the role of firing temperature. Teaching combines explanation with practical glazing work. Instruction also covers operation of the spray booth, giving participants the opportunity to practise techniques on suitable ceramic pieces.
