About this course
This taster introduces the basic process of throwing clay on a potter’s wheel. With tutor guidance, participants practise centring the clay before shaping it into a simple form such as a bowl, cup or small vessel. The session focuses on core wheel-throwing techniques and gives each participant the opportunity to make an individual ceramic piece.

Is this course right for you?
The class is intended for complete beginners and involves guided, practical work at the wheel. Participants make an individual piece during the session, with most producing a simple bowl, cup or small vessel.
- Suitable for solo attendance as well as date nights, parties and other group celebrations.
Before you go
- Clay, tools and aprons are provided.
- Wear comfortable clothes that can get messy.
- One selected piece will be professionally glazed and kiln-fired.
- Finished pottery can be collected after four weeks.
