About this course

The course develops practical strategic thinking beyond introductory concepts. Participants examine stakeholder interests and influence, assess risk and uncertainty, and consider internal controls and governance. They also explore competitive positioning through tools including Porter’s Five Forces, generic strategies, benchmarking and the Ansoff Matrix, alongside product portfolios, lifecycles and pricing approaches. Teaching combines short tutor-led sessions with practical exercises, group discussion and real-world scenarios. Participants are encouraged to apply the frameworks to their own work, business or professional goals, including setting priorities, distinguishing strategic from tactical decisions and identifying common pitfalls.
