About this course

The course prepares learners for the main Functional Skills English Level 2 qualification by introducing its reading, writing, speaking and listening components. Activities use real-world texts, including articles, reports and instructions, alongside practice in summarising information and identifying key points. Learners develop written communication through formal letters, emails and reports, with attention to punctuation, technical vocabulary and literary devices. Speaking activities include presentations, discussions and responding to others. Tutors provide support and assess whether learners are ready to progress to the full qualification.
