About this course

Participants explore how breathing, pacing and vocal control affect public speaking, alongside body-language principles and emotional delivery. The course uses guided exercises, vocal training and practical speech work rather than focusing only on presentation theory. The second half of each class is devoted to speaking in front of others. Later sessions include speeches on teacher-set topics, followed by individual feedback on strengths and areas for improvement. Improvisation and speech-writing exercises are also included, with an emphasis on authentic delivery rather than performing confidence.

What you'll learn

  • Apply breathing techniques to support voice control and manage nervousness while speaking
  • Use vocal exercises to improve projection, resonance, clarity and pacing
  • Apply body-language principles to reinforce spoken messages
  • Deliver short prepared speeches and respond through improvised talks
  • Structure and present a public speech using voice, tone and emotion
