About this course
The course combines close analysis of Ishiguro’s fiction with creative writing practice. Participants examine theme, character perspective, viewpoint and restricted voice, while considering how the novels reflect their historical context. Writing activities explore style, first-person narration, omission and distortion, with attention to developing an individual writing voice. Teaching includes short lectures, interactive presentations, and both group and individual exercises. The course is delivered through the combined perspectives of literature and creative writing.
