About this course

Participants analyse a favourite garment and trace it to produce accurate pattern pieces without altering the original. The workshop covers pattern-cutting terminology, garment construction clues, seam allowances and the markings needed to use a pattern effectively. Learners may also cut and begin sewing a toile to test the result, depending on available time. The course includes guidance on calculating fabric requirements and writing step-by-step construction notes for future use.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for intermediate learners with a good understanding of garment construction and experience sewing a range of projects from commercial patterns. Participants work on an individual garment while receiving guidance in a small class of up to four.
