About this course

The course consolidates existing French through spoken communication and structured interaction. Participants practise introducing themselves, describing other people, discussing daily routines and talking about travel, while revising regular and irregular present-tense verbs, pronouns and past tenses. Teaching may include pair and group work, role plays and language games, supported by presentations, hand-outs and audio-visual resources. The course is intended to refresh foundational knowledge and prepare learners to progress to a Level 2 course.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for learners returning to French after previous study, such as GCSE, O-level or equivalent. Although labelled elementary, it is not designed for complete beginners. Participation involves spoken interaction and activities with other learners, and the course is presented as preparation for a forthcoming Level 2 course.

• Previous French study is required.
