About this course

The course develops jazz singing through guided practice, work on song structure and singing with a microphone. Participants sing with and communicate alongside other musicians, while listening to and discussing classic vocalists. Teaching is shaped around individual learning goals, with practical tutor feedback and opportunities to perform at college concerts and events. Learners also consider how to practise effectively and develop performance skills through the practical class activities.

Is this course right for you?

The course is described as suitable for complete beginners as well as learners with some jazz singing experience. Participants should be able to sing some songs and have some appreciation of pitch. Music theory knowledge is useful, while Level 1 literacy is important for working with handouts. Classes involve singing with other musicians and performance opportunities.
