They plan and evaluate songs in lead-sheet form, use workshop recordings to review rehearsal and individual practice techniques, and examine the stylistic boundaries of a selected genre. The course also focuses on generating and developing musical ideas collectively, building the technical knowledge needed to present them in a live performance setting, and working towards shared creative goals.

What you'll learn

  • Improve performance technique in rock and pop settings
  • Analyse and evaluate songs using lead-sheet form
  • Apply more effective group rehearsal and individual practice techniques
  • Generate and develop musical ideas collaboratively
  • Use technical knowledge to present musical ideas in live performance
