About this course

The course develops established vocal technique through weekly exercises, group warm-ups and a regular singing workout. Learners explore vocal qualities suited to contemporary repertoire, consider appropriate styles and keys, and practise using a microphone effectively. Sessions include group and solo singing, with participants taking classic songs into performance and examining how to interpret them personally. Solo performances are discussed with constructive feedback from the tutor and classmates, alongside work on communicating with an audience. Preparation of class material between sessions forms part of the course.
